Mineral Salts
The electrolyte formulas made from carbohydrates improve the absorption of water during physical exercise. The amount of drink fluctuates between 500-1000 ml/hour depending on the intensity, duration, humidity and temperature during the physical exercise, drinking every 10 to 20 minutes.
Recommendations by the European Scientific Committee on Food, and the Spanish Federation of Sports Medicine regarding the osmolality and concentration of sodium in hydro-electrolyte replacement drinks:
- Osmolality between 200-300 mOsm/kg of water.
- Sodium: provides between 20-50 mmol/l of sodium (460-1150mg/l)
